It is with a very heavy heart that we inform you that our fearless leader, Mike Pascuzzo (Scooze or Coach Mike to some of you) has very suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. No one loved track and field, especially the high jump and pole vault, more than Scooze; it was his true passion and love (next to his wife, daughter, and puppies of course!). Not a day went by where he was not bragging about the successes of all of you.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be planned in the future, and we will post information when it becomes available.

As for Spring Vertical Club Sessions…

The show must go on, and Coach Mike wouldn’t want it any other way! Pole vault sessions for the spring will continue as planned, but there will be a modified plan for the high jump sessions. High jumpers, we will be contacting you about this. As we sort through this immense loss, please be patient with us. We will be reaching out regarding currently scheduled coaching sessions, and all who recently registered in the very near future.

In the wake of such a loss, we will have grief response counselors who have volunteered their services to assist with this incredibly emotional time should you need it.

Vertical Adventures and All of you were such a special and important part of Mike’s life. All of you are his legacy…
