One of the coolest track and field events of the summer is returning to New Jersey this weekend when Vertical Adventures hosts the 7th Jersey Jumps Beach Vault in Seaside Heights.
Redbirds’ girls strong, boys rebuilding under Kozlowski
Kozlowski succeeds Brian Harshman, who is an assistant at Robbinsville High School. She has a good track and field pedigree as her mother, Loretta McCarthy, coached at Willingboro High School for many years before retiring and her father, Mike Pascuzzo, is an acclaimed international high jumper who coaches at Lenape High School, where Kozlowski competed in the 200 meters and the javelin while in high school.

A few hundred convened on the sands of Seaside Heights this weekend for the seventh annual Mike Pascuzzo-masterminded Jersey Jumps Beach Pole Vault, one more innovative event created under the umbrella of the Pascuzzo's business enterprise appropriately titled Vertical Adventures Track and Field.
Jersey Jumps Beach Vault – Seaside Heights, NJ
Nearly 400 high school, college, and elite level pole vaulters flocked to the beach for the two-day event, which saw 3 pits used in conjunction with homemade runways laying on top of the sand.
Priscilla Frederick High Jump Diva
Women Who sat down with Priscilla Frederick, a fierce and fabulous high jumper on a journey in preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympics. Priscilla Frederick is a globally ranked high jumper who competes for Antigua and Barbuda. Daughter to a Dominican mother and Antiguan father, Priscilla is proud of her roots and her heritage as an African American, Caribbean, Latina. She is Antigua and Barbuda's Sportswoman of the Year.

Steiner Bennett Wins Beach Vault
There was no shock to Steiner-Bennett’s win — she’s been a big-time vaulter for much of the 21st century, has been nationally ranked every year since 2004 and owns such credits as a 2008 Olympic appearance (placing eighth at Beijing after taking second in the USA Trials), fifths (2004 and 2012 in her other Trials appearances), and a career best of 15-2 1/4 (4.63 meters) dating back to 2008.
Vertical Adventures camp's founder and guiding light is Mike Pascuzzo, the former 7-5 1/2 high jumper and University of Maryland standout and Olympic Trials veteran. The faculty, beyond Conway includes such notables as two-time Olympic high hurdles champion Roger Kingdom, Olympic 400 hurdles champion Andre Phillips, Thomas Jefferson (4x100 relay gold medalist), Carol Lewis Zilli, Lawrence Johnson, Rob Muzzio, Knut Hjeltnes, Norman Tate, Benn Fields, Ringo Adamson, Frank Harrison, Brian Chaput and Jon Kalnas.
